Product Description

Boiler Iguana™ is a ready-touse waterborne corrosion inhibitor for use in operating hot water systems or wet layup of standby boilers. Its combination of contact and Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitors protects multi-metal surfaces below and above the water level. Boiler Iguana™ is easy to apply and does not require frequent monitoring—unlike traditional layup strategies that require maintenance of high pH and regular testing of oxygen scavenger levels. Boiler Iguana™ allows quick startup because it is compatible with other water treatment chemicals and there is no need to drain the boiler before bringing it back online

Packaging & Storage

Boiler Iguana™ is available in 5-gallon (19 L) pails, 55-gallon (208 L) drums, liquid totes, and bulk.

To ensure best product performance, store in original packaging, indoors, and out of direct sunlight at 40-100 °F (4-38 °C).

Application

For Hot Closed Loops or Non-Steaming Boiler systems, maintain 2,000 ppm of Boiler Iguana™ in the circulating water. For wet layup, add Boiler Iguana™ to feedwater and/or condensate system and pump to the boiler. Shut the system down for layup or maintain low fire for standby, keeping the boiler at high-water level for up to 12 months of protection. Recommended dosage is 2,000 ppm. For standby boilers, monitor product concentration periodically to maintain effective dose as water is lost. Contact Cortec® Technical Services for details.
