Cortec VpCI®-1238 Liquid Additive for Vapor Degreasing, Cleaning, and Stripping Baths

Product Description

VpCI®-1238 is an additive that effectively boosts the corrosion protection to parts processed in vapor degreasing, cleaning, and stripping baths. It is very effective for both ferrous and non-ferrous metals; provides up to additional six months of corrosion protection and even longer protection with proper packaging.

VpCI-1238 offers a proven and unique combination of contact and vapor corrosion inhibitors that provide complete protection against rust, oxidation, and tarnish. During processing, the VpCIs vaporize and electrochemically combine with the metal surface in the vapor chamber. Reaching every area of a part, VpCI1238 protects exterior surfaces as well as hard-to-reach interior and recessed areas.

VpCI-1238 does not alter the surface appearance of the parts or leave a residual film; and in nearly all cases, does not need to be removed from parts prior to further finishing or use. In addition, it has no effect on painting, welding, or soldering. It will not change any critical physical properties including conductivity and resistance for even the most sensitive electrical and electronic components.

Typical Application

VpCI-1238 can be used with all conventional vapor type systems for degreasing, cleaning, and stripping as well as normal tank and flow-on equipment for solvent cleaning and degreasing.

Method of Application

Add VpCI-1238 concentrate to the bath to achieve a ratio of 2% to 5% by weight. Higher concentration levels will increase the duration of corrosion protection

Packaging and Storage

VpCI-1238 is available in 5 gallon (19 liter) pails, 55 gallon (208 liter) drums, liquid totes, and bulk. The product should be stored in heated warehouse conditions to avoid freezing. Maximum storage temperature cannot exceed 70ºF (21ºC).
