Cortec S-10 Corrosion Inhibitor

Product Description

S-10 protects against corrosion in the condensate line of boiler systems. Carbon dioxide is released when feed water containing carbonates and bicarbonates is heated. The carbon dioxide dissolves in the water contained in the condensate line, forming corrosive carbonic acid.

S-10, with its high volatility, is carried in the system along with carbon dioxide and steam. It will neutralize the acid upon its formation, preventing the corrosive action of carbonic acid.

Dosage

The recommended dosage of S-10 will depend on the amount of carbon dioxide, carbonates, and bicarbonates dissolved in the feed water. The pH of the condensate should be maintained between 7.5 and 8.5. Please consult a Cortec® representative for a specific recommendation.
