Product Description

VpCI®-418 is a heavy-duty alkaline cleaner/degreaser for cleaning industrial, oil field, commercial, and marine equipment. VpCI®-418 is designed for use in power washing machinery, high agitation parts washers, and high-pressure spray washers.

VpCI®-418 is non-flammable, nitrite-free, and does not present disposal problems associated with most phosphate cleaners.

VpCI®-418 contains inhibitors to protect metal parts from corrosion after cleaning. It has a unique ability to remove difficult deposits such as heavy hydrocarbons, greases, drawing and buffing compounds, and mill and machinery oils.

VpCI®-418 Safe-T-Charge (Patented)

VpCI®-418 Safe-T-Charge combines all the cleaning properties of VpCI®-418 with a convenient delivery system. VpCI®-418 Safe-T-Charge packaged in a polyvinyl alcohol bag (PVA) for safe handling and easy measurement. Simply place the bag into the wash system and allow the bag and powder to dissolve. VpCI®-418 Safe-T-Charge is available in 1 lb (0.45 kg) and 5 lbs (2.26) kg.

Effective Uses

• Machinery, engine blocks, or forgings coated with grease or oil deposits  
• Plate, sheet metal, and metal castings covered with oily films prior to painting or pickling  
• Metal parts contaminated with stamping, drawing, or buffing compounds  
• Pressure washing

Application

VpCI®-418 can be applied using power washers and sprayers.

Mix VpCI®-418 into water until fully dissolved. Take pH and refractometer measurements to establish benchmark readings.

Recommended Dilutions

Light cleaning:
Use 2% (by weight) VpCI®-418 in water.

Normal cleaning:
For machinery, rail cars, offshore equipment, and tanks contaminated with medium deposits, use 3% (by weight) VpCI®- 418 in water.

Heavy-duty cleaning:
For drilling mud, grease, crude, bilges, concrete surfaces, and structures, use 5-8% (by weight) VpCI®-418 in water.

Steam cleaning:
Use 2% by weight VpCI®-418 in water.

Temperature range:
VpCI®-418 is recommended for use in temperatures ranging from 95º-160ºF (35º-71ºC).

VpCI®-418 is available in 100 pound (45 kg) drums and bulk. VpCI®-418 Safe-T-Charge is available in 20 lbs (4.6 kg) packages containing either 1 lb (0.45 kg) or 5lbs (2.3 kg) bags.
