Product Description

Cor-Pak VpCI Cocooning Stretch film is designed specifically for applications requiring a strong but pliable film to conform to products of circular configuration such as primary metal coils. It is being used effectively in a new low cost wrapping system to package cold rolled and galvanized steel coils, as well as large aluminum coils. These primary metal coils are wrapped in rolling position with the bore or eye horizontal by the so called “cocooning” method.

With Cortec’s patented VpCI technology providing multi-metal corrosion protection, all surfaces of the metal are protected with a monomolecular layer of vapor phase corrosion inhibitors.

This unique stretch film maintains the same high performance strength and holding force of standard Cor-Pak VpCI Stretch Film. Additionally, it conforms exceptionally well to the curvature of coils, with cling properties designed to prevent slippage and zippering. Cor-Pak VpCI Cocooning Stretch Film makes mechanization by the “cocooning” method possible for a most cost effective packaging system while improving package integrity and appearance. As with all Cortec films, the product is environmentally friendly and fully recyclable.

Packaging and Storage

Cor-Pak VpCI Cocooning Stretch film is available in 20” (50 cm) and 30” (76 cm) widths with a thickness of 2-mils (50 microns). Call Cortec Customer Service for custom size requirements.

Cor-Pak VpCI Cocooning Stretch film should be stored indoors at room temperature, and sealed in its original packaging.
