EcoBio™ VpCI®-144 Barrier Paper

Product Description

EcoBio™ VpCI®-144 Barrier Paper is a premium recyclable, repulpable, biodegradable corrosion inhibiting barrier paper designed with the circular economy in mind. Made from 100% recycled paper stock treated with Cortec’s time-tested Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitor (VpCI®) coating on one side and a biobased, biodegradable barrier coating on the other side, this paper provides a competitive alternative to polyethylene and wax paper for resisting moisture, grease, oil, and corrosion.

Historically, polyethylene and wax coatings have been used to provide a moisture barrier. The resulting paper product is more difficult to recycle through normal channels and may end up as landfill waste. In contrast, the VpCI® and barrier coatings used on EcoBio™ VpCI®-144 Barrier Paper allow the paper to be recyclable in standard paper recycling streams while also being biodegradable.

Packaging and Storage

Available in a wide variety of custom roll/sheet sizes and coating weights. Different paper weights and types available on request.

To ensure best product performance, store in original packaging, indoors, and out of direct sunlight at 40-100 °F (4-38 °C).

Application

EcoBio™ VpCI®-144 Barrier Paper can be used in a variety of applications, such as packaging oily and greasy metals or protecting moisture-sensitive components.

Simply wrap items in the paper with the unprinted side facing the metal and fold the edges together, taping as needed to hold the paper in place. The VpCI® coating on the paper vaporizes, reaching all metal surfaces within the package to provide complete corrosion protection with a very thin, very effective VpCI® layer that does not alter product appearance or require removal before further finishing or use. The barrier coating keeps moisture, oil, and grease within the packaging and resists moisture on the outside.
