Cortec M-241

Product Description

M-241 is a powdered corrosion inhibitor for use in waterborne epoxies, urethanes, PUDs, acrylics and alkyds. M-241 p r o v i d e s p r o t e c t i o n f o r carbon steel and aluminum, and reduces scribe creep as well as preventing in-can corrosion. M-241 does not contain any heavy metals such as zinc phosphate, chromates or barium. M-241 contains FDA approved ingredients(21 CFR Part 172). M-241 works in the contact phase.

Packaging and Storage

M-241 is available in 5 lb (2.3 kg) and 50 lb (23 kg) pails, 100 lb (45 kg) fiber drums and bulk. Product shelf life is 24 months.

Coatings

Grind Base/Mill Base 

• Water Grind w/o Resin – add after wetting agent & co-solvents are added 
• Water Grind w/ Resin – add to resin prior to adding other components

Post Add 

• Letdown – add into letdown using moderate to high agitation 
• Post add – add into final product using moderate to high agitation

Two Part Epoxies 

• Add to the amine part
