Cortec VpCI®-427 Aluminum Cleaner

Product Description

VpCI-427 is a heavy-duty concentrate designed to remove oxide scale from parts and equipment fabricated from aluminum alloys, and as a preparation of aluminum surfaces for further processing such as anodizing, electroplating, or coating. In the past, mineral acids and caustic soda proved to be of limited effectiveness when used as cleaners for aluminum substrates. Another shortcoming of using aluminum cleaners currently available on the market is the scale formation upon heating and significant environmental risks involved with those products.

VpCI-427 is designed to overcome the disadvantages of conventional products. It dissolves aluminum oxide film from the surface and subsequently prevents its depositing an oxide scale. VpCI-427 is environmentally acceptable.

Application

Light cleaning: 1 part VpCI-427 to 15 parts water
Normal cleaning: 1 part VpCI-427 to 8 parts water
Heavy-duty cleaning: 1 part VpCI-427 to 5 parts water

Time of exposure in the solution will depend on the needs for corrosion removal. VpCI-427 may be rinsed off with water or Cortec® VpCI-410 series to provide extra protection. For a bright finish, Cortec® VpCI-426 is recommended.
