Cortec M-168

Product Description

M-168 is a solvent-based vapor and contact corrosion inhibitor to be used as an additive to conventional epoxies and alkyds, solvent-based and oil-based coatings and some lubricants. M-168 provides a corrosion resistant semi-solid film. M-168 is used at 2% to 20% by weight.

Formulation Hints 

• High levels (10-20%) may improve corrosion protection significantly  
• The coating will soften in the 10-20% range  
• Compatibility with the major resins should be checked initially to determine optimum levels

• As a finished "waxy" film forming, self healing film  
• As an additive to solvent based paint systems, including high-solids epoxies

Packaging and Storage

M-168 is available in 5 gallon (19 liter) containers, 55 gallon (208 liter) metal drums, liquid totes and bulk. M168 should be stored in tightly sealed metal containers. Storage temperature ranges from 0ºF (18ºC) to 120ºF (49ºC). Shelf life is 24 months.
